Preston First XI v Redbourn CC
Preston First XI produced a dominant 151-run win against Redbourn CC. Redbourn won the toss and elected to field, but Preston piled on an excellent 330/7 from their 50 overs. Edward Wharton led the innings superbly with 104, while Jake George added 74 and Joshua Wigginton scored a rapid 44. Eden Scott also finished unbeaten on 37, giving Preston late momentum. Redbourn’s bowlers struggled to contain Preston, though Callum Moyle and Daniel Lennox both took 2 wickets. In reply, Redbourn were restricted to 84/6 in 22.1 overs against a revised target of 236 after rain struck Preston. Bodie Richardson’s unbeaten 40 was their main resistance, but Preston’s bowlers stayed in control throughout. Edward Wharton completed an outstanding all-round performance with 3/20, while Luke Marsden took 2/22.
Preston Second XI v North Enfield CC
Preston Second XI were beaten by 9 wickets against North Enfield CC. Preston won the toss and elected to bat, finishing on 182/9 from their 48 overs. William Gallimore top-scored with a strong 65, while Peter Williamson added an important 35 in the middle order. Oliver Munt was the pick of the North Enfield bowlers with 3/23, supported by Steve Gandy’s 2/49 and David Malleson’s 2/28. In reply, North Enfield reached 112/1 in 33 overs, comfortably passing their revised target of 93. Kieran Jones finished unbeaten on 52, while Tom Coughlan also remained not out on 55. Bhavin Patel took Preston’s only wicket, finishing with 1/25, but North Enfield completed the chase under Duckworth-Lewis due to rain.
Preston Third XI v West Herts CC
Preston Third XI secured an excellent 43-run win against West Herts CC. Preston won the toss and elected to bat, before being bowled out for 120 in 38.4 overs. Amit Rajani’s 37 was the key innings for Preston, while Gurpreet Singh’s 20 gave valuable support lower down the order. Karthika Thangiah bowled well for West Herts, taking 3/24, with Hatim Kanchwala also taking 2/20. Preston then produced a superb bowling display to bowl West Herts out for 77 in 24.3 overs. Gurpreet Singh was outstanding, taking a remarkable 7/9 from 8.3 overs, including a hat-trick. Amit Rajani also backed up his runs with 2/15, as Preston defended their total brilliantly and sealed a memorable victory.
Preston Fourth XI v Hatfield and Crusaders CC
Preston Fourth XI were beaten by 76 runs against Hatfield and Crusaders CC. Hatfield and Crusaders won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 212/1 from their 40 overs. Nikhil Jonnalagadda’s unbeaten 81, Barry Phillips’ 70 and Saad Butt’s unbeaten 31 gave Hatfield full control of the first innings. Harry Fleckney took Preston’s only wicket, finishing with 1/49. In reply, Preston were bowled out for 136 in 30.2 overs. Iain Williamson top scored with 29, while John Garnham and Harry Brett both made useful twenties. However, Tony Jakes produced the decisive spell for Hatfield and Crusaders, taking 6/17 from 7.2 overs to close out the game.
Preston Sunday 1st XI v Letchworth Garden City CC
Preston Sunday 1st XI won by 7 wickets against Letchworth Garden City CC. Letchworth won the toss and elected to bat, but Preston bowled them out for 125 in 24.5 overs. Noah Gower top scored with 44 and Leyton Thres added 38, but Preston’s attack shared the wickets impressively. Oliver Clark took 3/33, Ariful Islam finished with 3/14, while Oliver Gallimore and Peter Murrell both took 2 wickets each. In reply, Preston reached 126/3 in 26.3 overs. Young Australian overseas James Doherty anchored the chase superbly with an unbeaten 62, while Jacob Williamson finished 28 not out to guide Preston home. Dylan Griffiths took 2/18 for Letchworth, but Preston completed a strong Sunday 1st XI victory.
