Preston First XI v Redbourn CC

Preston 1s hosted Redbourn in a high-scoring thriller. Opting to bat first, Preston posted a strong 321/9 in 60 overs, anchored by centuries from Jake George (116) and Josh Wiggington (117). Despite the mammoth total, Redbourn chased it down in just 48.2 overs, finishing on 323/4. Ed Hales starred with a blistering 93 off 47, while Tom Edrich added an unbeaten 116. Preston took 12 points from the narrow 6-wicket loss.

Preston Second XI v Mill Hill Village CC

Preston 2s were narrowly defeated in a close-fought game against Mill Hill Village. Sumit Jadav top-scored with 57 for Mill Hill as they posted 219/9 in their 50 overs. Preston skipper David Fleckney led with the ball, taking 3 for 58, while Jacob Williamson supported well with 2 for 20. In reply, Pete Gooden scored a composed 65, but Preston fell just short, bowled out for 211 in 47 overs to lose by an agonising 8 runs.

Preston Third XI v Harpenden CC

Preston 3s were playing at home in Whitwell and posted a competitive 202/7 in 40 overs, with Amit Rajani (56) and Rishabh Srinivasan (30) making key contributions. However, Harpenden chased it down in 35.3 overs, finishing 208/6. Despite Ariful Islam’s masterful 3/13 of 8 overs, Preston couldn’t prevent the 4-wicket loss.

Preston Sunday 1st XI v Harrold CC

Preston Sunday 1s endured a tough day against a strong Harrold side. After conceding 277/5 in 40 overs (Joe Peckham scoring 104*), despite youngster Arundeep Natt’s 4 wickets. In response to the bat, Preston had an explosive start with openers Josh Wigginton and Pushan Chakraborty taking them to 75 of 8 overs. Wigginton was out on 45 of a staggering 19 deliveries, and Chakraborty was out on 59 of 65 balls. Their wickets were key as Harrold won convincingly by 119 runs, with Preston finishing on 158 all out.

 

Preston Sunday 2nd XI v Baldock CC

In a thrilling friendly at home, Preston 2nd Sunday XI edged out Baldock by 4 wickets. Chasing 211, they reached 215/6 in just 34.1 overs, thanks to a sensational unbeaten 116 from Oscar Dunham Welch. Oscar scored his first Saturday 50 for the 2s earlier this month, has now scored his debut senior hundred. Many more to come for Dunham Welch! David Fleckney’s 45 provided key support, capping off a memorable run chase. A well-deserved win in a high-scoring encounter.
