National Village Cup First Round – a win for Preston!

On Sunday Preston comfortably defeated Beds side Elstow in the first round of The Cricketer Village Cup. Ben Hill scored 68* as Preston made an impressive 248-4 in their 40 overs. Pete Murrell continued his rich vein of form with 47 and then taking 4-29 in Elstow’s response. Although Elstow started brightly, and contributed some sprightly lower order hitting to  entertain their home supporters, they were unable to keep up with the required run rate and finished on 211-8. Charlie Bruce took 2-41 with his leg spin to support Murrell. Preston travel to St Margaretsbury on Sunday 19th May for the second round tie.
