Gerald Billingham

Gerald and Maureen Billingham’s daughter, Helen, contacted the club a few days ago to pass on the very sad news that Gerry had passed away on Boxing Day at the age of 93 in Baldock with his lovely family by his side.

Gerry was a massive part of Preston CC across many years and Maureen scored often for the club with her infamous jar of sweets. Many current players remember playing alongside Gerry in his older player days and Maureen scored many of our first games for the club. The family passed on warm memories of those many happy days at Preston and afterwards at The Red Lion.

The funeral will take place on January 24th at Holwell Crematorium at 11am should anyone wish to attend.

Our deepest sympathy and warmest thoughts are with Maureen, Helen and Sarah at this very difficult time.

The club owes a great deal to Gerry and the other players of his generation. Rest in peace, Gerry.
