Firsts outplayed by table toppers Dunstable

Another poor showing with the bat saw Preston go down at home by 5 wickets to table toppers Dunstable.

On winning the toss and electing to bat first, Preston made steady progress reaching the 10 over mark at 36 for 2, on what was a difficult batting surface. However, from this point on a mixture of some clever bowling and poor shot selection saw them dismissed in the 27th over for a well below par 114. Max Anderson top scoring with 27.

Dunstable showed their class and why they are top of table in a calculated run chase as Preston struggled to contain the powerful batting line up. The visitors reached 102 for 2 by the 25th over, before the introduction of part time spinner David Fleckney (4 for 13 in 4 overs) saw quick wickets fall, granting some much needed points for the home side. But it was all a little too late as the visitors coasted home to victory in the 32nd over with 5 wickets in hand.
