Preston 2s v Harpenden 3s Herts Div 5 Sat 8th June
—————————————————

A fine team batting performance was ruined by some poor bowling as Preston 2nds fell to a 5 wicket defeat by Harpenden thirds. Callum Blair top scored with 47 as Preston gained maximum batting bonus points in setting Harpenden a target of 203. But Harpenden’s batsmen soon enjoyed some overly generous bowling and won inside 33 overs. Only a fired-up Finlay Connah (4 for 58) was able to cause Harpenden difficulties.

Preston 3s v Flitwick 3s Sat 8th June
————————————–

Preston 3rds opener Ian Cooper was stranded one run short of a century as his side clung on for a draw with nine wickets down against Flitwick thirds. Flitwick’s 220-5 proved too much for Preston, who finished on 192-9.

Preston 4s v Old Albanians 3s Sat 8th June
———————————————

Preston 4ths inserted visitors Old Albanians 3rds but regretted the decision as OA’s posted 203; newcomer Roger Hickman with 4-60 and Chris Newell with 3-63 were the pick of the bowlers. Once again Preston found batting difficult and only John Skirrow 23 and skipper Dave Saunders 62 showed any resistance as Preston crumbled to 116 all out.
