Cricket Reports – 6/7 August
Preston ones lost to Hemel Hempstead by 5 wickets.
Upon winning the toss Preston chose to bat, looking to build on last weekend’s win.
Preston managed a below par 175 before being bowled out in the 49th over. James Stevens scored a classy 66. Stevens return to form could be massive for Preston if they are to avoid the drop.
Hemel on the promotion hunt, went about the run chase in aggressive style reaching the target in the 30th over. 50’s for Brett Penny and Lewis Hodgins. Phil Simpson picking up 2/20 for Preston.
A holiday depleted Preston 2’s lost to Radlett 3’s by 7 wickets. Preston sit 3rd with 4 games to play, promotion still realistic.
Preston 3’s were also affected by the holiday season came second to Stevenage by 5 wickets. They do remain in the top spot and looking good for promotion still.
Preston 4’s came across a strong Markyate first team and went down by 294 runs. With 16 players unavailable this weekend, the real success was being able to field all 4 sides.
The club had better fortunes on Sunday ones. And managed to chase down a mammoth 284 set by Blunham in just 34.4 overs.
