PRESTON CC 1ST XI VS REDBOURN CC
The 1st XI won the toss and elected to field at home. Redbourn’s batting innings got off to a great start with E. Hales smashing 85 of 36 balls and T. Edrich scoring a patient 79 of 115 as Redbourn finished on 278/7 of their 50 overs. Ariful Islam starred with the ball for Preston as he finished on 2/23 of his 10 overs. In the second innings, Preston had a lot of their batsmen getting off to good starts, such as Phil Simpson (34 of 45 balls), Josh Wigginton (38 of 31 balls) and Ed Wharton (25 of 22 balls). However, it was only Jack Stevens who crossed 50, fishing on a breezy 85 of 82 balls. With no one else to go big, apart from Stevens, Preston were bowled out for 242 runs in 44.2 overs as they lost by 36 runs.
PRESTON CC 2ND XI VS MILL HILL VILLAGE CC
Preston won the toss and elected to bat first, away from home. Despite Preston being 33-2, they finished on a strong 224/9. Highlights from the first innings were Jacob Williamson’s 30, David Fleckney’s 31 and youngster Rishabh Srinivasan’s 38*. Srinivasan was part of another Preston 2nd XI stellar last wicket partnership, as he and Mark Waters combined to score a very important 40 runs. In the second innings, other than D. Potter’s 62 of 81 balls, Mill Hill collapsed spectacularly as they were bowled out for 139 in 39.5 overs. The everlasting spin-duo of David Fleckney (4-36 of 10) and Ashley Catlin (3-7 of 7.5 overs) were the stars of the second innings as the 2nd XI took another 30 points! The 2s are carrying good momentum towards the end of the season, they have now won 3 of their last 4 games!
PRESTON CC 3RD XI VS HARPENDEN CC
The 3s were away from home and won the toss, electing to bat first. Preston finished on 139/8 of their 40 overs, with Oliver Jackson’s 42 of 70 balls being the highlight, along with Srini Nanjundan’s 34 of 41 balls. Harpenden’s J. Gill (3/20) & A.Dyson (3/13) bowled brilliantly as they took wickets at a regular rate. In the second innings, Zabihullah Stanikzai took 2/13 in 6 overs for Preston. However, Harpenden chased 139 down in 27 overs as A. Behl scored 54 of 55 balls and D. Whitely scored 40 of 68. Another loss for the 3s as they took 6 points from this fixture.
