Weekend Roundup 12/13th Aug
Dan Scholz stars in the Future Automation sponsored weekend.
Dan hit an impressive 118 against Flitwick in the Championship despite rain playing a deciding hand in favour of Flitwick. Preston won the toss and took first knock posting 268/9 off 48 overs. Dan’s 118 was supported by Skipper Jake George making 63. Due to rain DWL came into play with Preston having Flitwick 159/2 (revised target 118). Flitwick therefore took the honours in what would have a been a good game if the weather hadn’t played it’s part once again.
Preston Seconds moved into the promotion places securing a great 38 run win against Bentley Heath CC. Preston posted 189/5 with 41 not out from Ash Catlin and Skipper Fleckney scoring 56 not out. The Heath were 151 all out with Ollie Gallimore taking 3/44 and Fleckney 3/34.
Preston Third’s beat Boxmoor by 6 runs (again DWL played a hand). Preston posted 166/9 off their 40 overs but the came the rain. Boxmoor were 99/7 (revised to 106 required). Cal Blair made a well made 33 and James Skirrow 39. Wickets were shared across all the bowlers.
Preston Fourths came second to Ickleford CC in Regional Div 10N. Preston bowled first but Ickleford’s Chan made an impressive 73 not out to help the Tigers to 187/5. Preston started well with evergreen John Garnham chalking up another 50 but rain came and Preston were 85 for 4 (revised to 131 required off 40) so Ickleford won by 45 runs.
The Sunday Firsts recorded a great win by 6 wickets against Markyate who elected to bat first and were all out for 162 with Omar Faleel taking 4/41. Preston chased this down ending up on 165/4 with Scholzy again hitting decent runs (44) and Jack Morecroft not out on 39.
