Preston First XI v Dunstable Town CC
Preston First XI were beaten by 7 wickets against Dunstable Town CC. Preston were put into bat after Dunstable won the toss and elected to field, but were bowled out for 83 in 26 overs. Dunstable’s attack was led by R. Simpkins, who took an excellent 4/3, while H. McBrearty finished with 3/37 and J. Allen took 2/25. In reply, Dunstable reached 85/3 in 10 overs. M. Smith finished unbeaten on 27 and J. Shaw made an unbeaten 20. Omar Faleel provided the main positive for Preston with 2/21, while Edward Wharton took 1/24, but Dunstable completed the chase comfortably.
Preston Second XI v Stevenage CC
Preston Second XI were beaten by 7 wickets against Stevenage CC. Preston won the toss and elected to bat, but were bowled out for 92 in 32.4 overs. Peter Williamson led the innings with 39 from 55 balls, supported by Warren Hearne’s 22. D. Prathi produced the decisive spell for Stevenage, taking 7/28, while S. Pawar finished with 2/0. In reply, Stevenage reached 95/3 in 13.2 overs. J. Lucy struck an unbeaten 60 from 49 balls to lead the chase, while S. Pawar added 13. Joey Kelsall took 2/37 for Preston and Bhavin Patel finished with 1/40, but Stevenage reached the target with 7 wickets remaining.
Preston Third XI v Sandridge CC
Preston Third XI secured an excellent 5-wicket win against Sandridge CC. Chasing 172, Preston reached 172/5 in 35 overs. David Clark led the chase with 49, while Nick Staddon added 33 and James Battersby made 25. Gillan Ide finished unbeaten on 21 to guide Preston over the line and complete a much-needed victory. Earlier, Sandridge had scored 171/6 from their 40 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat. K. Murphy made 31, while A. Temple and G. Narula both scored 30. Hendrix Ide led Preston’s bowling with 3/22, while Oliver Clark and George Constantinidi took one wicket each. Muhammad Faleel also produced an exceptionally economical spell, conceding just one run from five overs, including four maidens.
Preston Fourth XI v Hoddesdon CC
Preston Fourth XI produced an excellent 42-run win against Hoddesdon CC. Preston won the toss and elected to bat, posting a strong 232/6 from their 40 overs. Craig Tennant led the innings superbly with 66, while John Garnham made 38 and Mihir Shah finished unbeaten on 31. Greig Hearne also contributed 27 as Preston built a commanding total. Hoddesdon’s bowling was led by P. Webb, who took 4/27, while C. Harding and R. Maughan claimed one wicket each. In reply, Hoddesdon were bowled out for 190 in 38.5 overs. P. Webb top scored with 31 and L. Webb added 26, but Preston’s bowlers maintained control. Kevin Brett led the attack with 3/33, while Eoin Doyle took 2/30 and Sataarj Kohli finished with 2/18, sealing another impressive Fourth XI victory.
