Preston First XI v Hemel Hempstead Town CC
Preston First XI were beaten by 62 runs against Hemel Hempstead Town CC. Chasing 209, Preston were bowled out for 146 in 41.5 overs. Eden Scott was the stand-out performer for Preston with an excellent 74 from 107 balls, hitting 12 fours. Hemel Hempstead’s bowlers kept control throughout, with Edward Pike taking 4/32, while Darren James and Lucas Bertin both finished with 2 wickets each. Earlier, Hemel Hempstead had scored 208/9 from their 60 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat. Mark Brazer led the way with an unbeaten 63, supported by Hemish Ilangaratne’s 37, Brett Penny’s 29 and Tom Elborn’s 28. Preston fought hard with the ball, as Luke Marsden took 3/46 and Joshua Wigginton finished with 3/43, but Hemel Hempstead’s total proved too much.
Preston Second XI v Luton Town & Indians CC
Preston Second XI were beaten by 132 runs against Luton Town & Indians CC. Chasing 264, Preston finished on 131/9 from 48.3 overs. David Fleckney top scored with 37, while youngster Arundeep Natt made 29 in a patient innings, and Ashley Catlin finished unbeaten on 17. Luton Town & Indians’ attack was led by Haroon Afridi, who took 3/12, with Ahsan Hanif and Habibullah Oryakhil both taking 2 wickets each. Earlier, Luton Town & Indians had posted 263/6 from their 50 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat. Saeed Ahmad’s unbeaten 84 was the key innings, supported by Habibullah Oryakhil’s 57, Usama Saad’s 43 and Suleiman Mohammed’s 39. Preston’s wickets were shared by Bhavin Patel, who took 2/60, and Ariful Islam, who finished with 2/48, but Luton Town & Indians built a match-winning total.
Preston Third XI v Kings Langley CC
Preston Third XI were beaten by 4 wickets against Kings Langley CC. Preston were bowled out for 133 in 31.2 overs after Kings Langley won the toss and elected to field. Oliver Jackson was the clear stand-out for Preston, making 54 from 72 balls with 7 fours and 1 six, while Gurpreet Singh finished unbeaten on 12. Kings Langley’s bowlers shared the wickets well, with I. Iqbal taking 3/28, while V. Swami and N. Senaratne both took 2 wickets each. In reply, Kings Langley reached 136/6 in 30.3 overs. A. Sethuge made 50 and L. Yates added 48 to put Kings Langley in control of the chase. Preston kept fighting through Oliver Jackson’s 2/7 and George Constantinidi’s 2/9, but Kings Langley got over the line with 4 wickets remaining.
Preston Fourth XI v Enfield CC
Preston Fourth XI were beaten by 4 wickets against Enfield CC, Middx. Preston was bowled out for 115 in 35.4 overs after Enfield won the toss and elected to field. Andrew Hedges produced an excellent innings of 54 from 90 balls, hitting 8 fours, while Harry Fleckney finished unbeaten on 22. Enfield’s bowlers kept Preston under pressure, with David Combe taking 3/7, Vrushank Patel 3/23 and Zeeshan Munir 3/22. In reply, Enfield reached 116/6 in 38.3 overs. Zeeshan Munir’s unbeaten 41 and David Combe’s 31 guided the chase, despite Preston making them work hard for the win. Irfan Rabbani bowled well with 2/26, while Harry Fleckney backed up his runs with 2/18, but Enfield completed the chase with 4 wickets in hand.
Preston Sunday 1st XI v Lutonian CC
Preston Sunday 1st XI were beaten by 66 runs against Lutonian CC. Chasing 241, Preston reached 174/6 from their 40 overs. Will Mercer made 32, while youngster Oscar Dunham Welch, who plays age-group cricket for Hertfordshire, also scored 32. Pushan Chakraborty added 22, with James Doherty and Oliver Jackson both making 19. Lutonian’s bowlers kept the chase under control, with Danial Haider taking 2/18 and Ahsan Hanif finishing with 2/24. Earlier, Lutonian had made 240/8 from their 40 overs after Preston won the toss and elected to field. Danial Haider led the innings with an unbeaten 78, while Usama Saad made 43 and Zain Hameed added 35. Preston’s best bowling came from Jacob Williamson, who took 3/31, while young Australian overseas James Doherty finished with 2/23, but Lutonian’s total proved decisive.
