Preston 4s v Watford 3s, Saturday 4th May at Hitchin Boys’ School
——————————————————————-
Preston 4s were inserted by watford 3rds, after an hour’s delay due to a cloudburst. Sadly they had no answer to pace bowler Khan, who took 7-33 and proved too good for the fourth XI batsmen. Preston posted a meagre 66 in 26 overs with captain Saunders top scoring with 22. The home side, who only lost 3 games in the whole of last season, romped home to victory, Chris Newell bagging the only 2 wkts to fall for 2 points. Nonetheless, it was thanks to some hard work by Dave Saunders that the fours were able to field an XI, and many thanks to all who made the game.
