2015 Season is off and running….

Preston’s 2015 season started last weekend with a warm-up game against a side from Stevenage CC on the Saturday and a team went to visit Ickleford on Sunday.

Stevenage outgunned a groaning Preston side but both teams said it was great just to get out there again. The wickets and the pitch at Preston looked amazing and played well considering the early time of year. Well done Peter.  Preston’s notable performance was from 2’s Skipper Ash Catlin, who carved out an early season 50. The Preston bowling was turgid in the main, with a dusting of accurate. The fielding needs to sharpen up too.

It was good to welcome new players Casey Hughes, Sam Singh and just get the whites on again and feel leather on willow and the stinging pain from several early season drop catches.

This coming weekend brings a double header against Reed and a side from Bishop’s Stortford in a late in the day re-arranged weekend. Let’s hope the weather holds.
