15/16 May – Roundup
A rainy weekend was brightened up by outstanding performances from our 2’s and 4’s. The 2’s promotion push continues at pace, but youngster Jacob Williamson stole the show in the 4’s nail-biting win.

⛈ Saturday 1st XI Vrs Langleybury CC – Wash Out
–
Saturday 2nd XI Vrs Hemel Hempstead 3’s CC – Won by 8 wickets.
Once again, Preston’s bowling unit was firing on all fronts as they bowled out Hempstead for just 133. To no surprise, veteran Mark Waters the pick with 3/28.
On a green top… Openers Peter Gooden (60) & Dom Baldwin (45) conquered any potential nerves with a 108 opening stand as Preston eventually romped home in the 23rd over. 2 from 2 for the 2’s.
⛈ Saturday 3rd XI Vrs Great Gaddesden – Wash Out
Saturday 4th XI Vrs Mill Hill Village CC 3’s CC – Won by 2 wickets
An Absolute nail biter at Whitwell saw the 4’s victorious. Bowling first, Hammy (2/13) and Jacob Williamson (2/18) took early wickets before Biggs (2/23) and Alex Williamson (3/2) did the damage later on, reducing the oppo to just 97.
Ian Williamson shaped the innings well for 40. But enter 14-year-old Jacob Williamson (9*), who together with Carter (17*) took us across the line with Jacob hitting the penultimate ball for 4 to cap an exemplary individual & Team performance.
Sunday League XI Vrs Dunstable CC – Lost by 8 wickets
Let’s hope for some sun next weekend, which sees us host the next round of the village cup on Sunday.
Big thanks to Craig Tennant for some great photography 🙌💪🍻
