Sunday firsts win Chess Valley League Div 4!

After waiting 3 weeks for the final matches to be played out in the Chess Valley Div 4, the Sunday firsts have been declared champions after Finchley lost their last fixture at Enfield. In an epic game, Enfield chased down Finchley’s impressive 311 for the loss of 8 wickets, and that meant the firsts finished clear winners at the top of the table with 6 wins from 7 games, with just the single, last ball defeat at Chipperfield Clarendon. Congratulations to skipper Max Anderson, vice Ben Hill, and to all the players, including leading run scorer Richard Wharton and star bowler Ed Wharton.

Sadly, despite winning the final fixture at Redbourn thanks to Will Gallimore’s fine 100, Preston’s Sunday 2nds were relegated from Chess Valley Division 7.
