Ashley Catlin catches up with the latest reports from the Preston Junior sides:

Preston Under 9 vrs Hitchin 2

The young and inexperienced Preston team had their first home game at the field of dreams. Fielding first the boys started a bit slowly as the Hitchin batsman ran well and we were a bit lethargic in the field, after 4 overs the oppo were 228. The next four overs saw …

Seconds fight hard but club suffers league whitewash

With enough players missing to fill two decent elevens, it was a great effort from Preston’s members to field four sides this weekend. Sadly, the club suffered the ignominy of a league whitewash.

Preston 2nd XI came closest to victory, with a fighting performance at West Herts IIs. Electing to bat first, Preston started slowly but steadily on a stodgy pitch that defied the initial verdict of “road”. Callum Blair …

3rds thump Hatfield as 1sts falter in season openers

Preston 1st XI got off to a disappointing start in their 2015 Saracens Herts League Div 2A campaign with defeat by Watford Town. The match was also  Preston’s first 50/50 encounter of the new-look season. Preston were inserted on a damp but drying wicket with mixed overhead conditions and opened their innings comfortably. This serenity wasn’t to last too long, as a mix of poor shot selection by the batsmen …

Preston CC Colts Update

Preston Under 9 vrs Weston

Skipper Murrell won the toss and decided to take the new ball first.  Murrell called upon ever-reliable Riant and the evergreen Waters; both of whom picked up the St Margs openers relatively cheaply. At drinks, St Margs were 48-2. The hosts then lost a flurry of wickets despite …
