Welcome to the 2017 Cricket Season..!

The Club is very much looking forward to the 2017 season.

Preston CC have been working very hard throughout the winter months to improve both our Grounds in Preston and Whitwell. After last season’s net development project where two brand new training nets were built on the old net footprint, we felt that other facets of the club also needed improvement.

A new Scorebox development project was devised to take down the old one and replace with a large Score Wall with incorporated box and new electronic display. We have used this now for the first time and it makes a stunning, visual and practical addition to our Preston facility.

The Preston pavilion also received a thorough overhaul and total re-decoration thanks to Preston CC member John Garnham.

We will continue to develop our Junior Cricket programme and Preston rightly is highly regarded for genuine cricket coaching for children ages 8-15. We like to keep it small and focused on quality.

Preston CC will continue to field four X1’s on Saturday’s in the Saracens Herts League and achieve once again promotions in the divisions. We will hope to continue our stunning successes of last year in the Beds Sunday Cricket league. We will continue to also field a Sunday 2’s that give older, wiser and younger heads a local friendly game. Sunday cricket is the window into a successful club these days and we are comfortable that we can field two Sunday teams.

We always welcome new players, but we are always on the look out for more players looking for competitive cricket and a social club atmosphere where everyone’s welcome. Preston CC thrives in a hot-bed of local cricket and we pride ourselves on being managed by current players and supported by a committed group of VP’s and Life Members, a generous Parish Council and The Red Lion – our real pavilion.

Looking forward to the 2017 season.
